Follow Me, Follow You!

I just wanted to post this quick announcement that it is (and always has been) my policy to follow back those who follow me. I think the medium of blogging requires reciprocity in an effort to encourage mutual dialogue. For me it expands my mind. I've learned so much from such a diverse group of bloggers I've met through maintaining this and my other blog that I'm open to discovering more!

That said, I've been somewhat confused when following somebody back. When I click on their profile in Google Friend Connect I'm unclear sometimes if the person following me has a blog I can follow. One lady I know only has a profile (but no blog) admonished me when I didn't "friend" her back. Honestly, I didn't know you could do that.

Then there are those who have half a dozen blogs or more and frankly that's too much for me to handle. I'd like to focus on the one blog that you love the most and one that you post the most frequently.

So...if I am not following you or "friending" you or mutually reciprocating in any way please let me know. I'm more than happy to connect with you!

Like I said, the Google Friend Connect befuddles me just a bit. And I'd like to think I'm smarter than the average bomb so if I'm confused then who else is confused?

  2. I am not the only one who finds Google Friend Connect confusing. I have had the same thing happen to me before. *sigh* I love to follow everyone that follows me but there have been some that it shows they don't have a profile nor a Blog so it's like how can you follow someone like that *shrug*

Thank you sweet girl for putting my necklace Giveaway on your sidebar. I pink puffy heart you.

  3. I feel your pain sista! Sometimes when someone comments on my blog, they have an account but no blog...so I didn't know you could "follow" or "friend" the blogless google accounts either. What's a girls to do?
I am also fascinated by bloggers and blog etiquette. I think connecting and following reciprocity is just plain good manners. You know, someone should write a blog etiquette post! But not me, because I'm still relatively new and don't know enough. (hint hint)

  4. I daren't even ATTEMPT Google Connect. I'm afraid that, like Facebook and Ning, it takes a lot of getting used to over a period of time, to find your way around. Therefore I don't bother. Life is hard enough!

There's a few that Follow me that only have a blogger account (but no details of a blog that I can see) so in that case I give it up as a bad job. I'm also irritated if they don't have an email address - especially if they've won a giveaway or something. Sometimes it says 'web page' or email address on the Profile page, sometimes not. If there's an email button, that's great. Otherwise, I just scream quietly...
